Now that the movie Machete has been released on the unsuspecting public, the Machete race war is on. White people need to lock their doors and load their guns because the Mexicans are coming across the border and they’re gonna win!

Ok, reality check time. Machete is a movie, and it’s actually kind of boring and the plot is extremely hard to follow. You’re given the feeling that Mexicans are really good people that work hard (all very true). White people are corrupt, evil opportunists who want to hog all the good things in life. If you made it all the way to the end without falling asleep then you get treated to an explosive mini-war that might even be like it was at the Alamo, only this time the Mexicans win. The ending is probably the best part of the whole movie!

What you DON’T see in the whole movie is African Americans. Where do they stand on these issues? Are they just a corrupt and evil? Why are the Mexicans fighting only white people (I think there were a couple of token black people in that big fight scene…not sure)? And which side are the African Americans on anyway? Will they come to the white people’s aid or will they stand on the side of their minority brethren? Hey, and what about the Asians in American…where do they stand?

One more question occurs to me: If a plane crashes on the border between Mexico and the United States, on which side should they bury the survivors?

Silent as a painting, the movie shows us day-dreamer Hermie and his friends Oscy and Benjie spending the summer of ‘42 on an US island with their parents – rather unaffected by WWII. While Oscy’s main worries are the when and how of getting laid, Hermie honestly falls in love with the older Dorothy, who’s married to an army pilot. When her husband returns to the front, Hermie shyly approaches her.

Japan attacked the United States on December 7, 1941.

The “Summer of ‘42″ depicts the loneliness of just one of the war brides of the time. Dorothy (Jennifer O’Neill) has a husband in service. She is vacationing at a beach cabin with the implication that, by the sea, her husband will come home soon.

Hermie, a teenager in a beach cabin nearby, is coming of age and he and his two buddies are looking for their first intimate encounter. Hermie meets Dorothy in a store, and soon helps her with small projects. Early one evening he arrives at her cabin and notices a telegram informing Dorothy that her husband has been killed in action. Grieving and desperate for comfort, Dorothy seduces Hermie in a gentle way.

This movie attempts to portray the emptiness of the young women whose husbands went to fight in WW II. It is an example of the shift in story lines in the late ’60s and early ‘70. Soft sex and implied violence got a start around this time.

HealthDay News is reporting that kids who aren’t allowed to watch R-rated movies are much less likely to start drinking booze at an early age.

According to the study, first published in the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, researchers questioned over 3,500 middle school kids in New England and followed-up two years later when they were in high school. In that time, 3 percent of the kids who said their parents never allowed them to watch R-rated movies said they had started drinking alcohol, compared with 19 percent of those who were sometimes allowed to watch R-rated movies and 25 percent of those who said they were allowed to watch such movies “all the time.”

Researchers said depictions of alcohol consumption appear in about 90 percent of R-rated movies, which may be one reason why children who see such movies are more likely to start drinking at a young age.

I don’t know about this one. It doesn’t sound like there was a control group to differentiate kids whose parents drank alcohol and those who didn’t. I would think having high-school aged siblings would play a role.

I also think many PG-13 movies are worse than some R rated movies. The Dark Knight, for example, had more violence than many R movies I’ve seen. But OK, there was no drinking or drug use in it.

Dakota Fanning joined Oprah today via Skype to introduce the highly anticipated FINAL Twilight: Eclipse trailer before the movie hits theaters worldwide June 30th. And it was worth the wait!

The trailer reveals elements of the film only hinted at so far and shows a step up in the production quality where the werewolf animation and flying vampires are concerned – two effects which have lacked in the usual high quality that movies are now able to afford. That happens when your budget goes up after the previous installment goes staraight to monster hit!

AND the love triangle between Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) intensifies as Bella makes her choice over which mythological creature she decides to spend the rest of her unnatural life with.

But there’s a catch…

Well, we won’t spoil it. You’ll have to see for yourself!

So, if you saw ‘Twilight’ or ‘New Moon’ in an IMAX theater, it was simply blown up to show a larger version of the original. Films that are truly formatted for The IMAX Experience utilize special technology that allows the movie to be played on all planes of a semi-globular screen. So this year’s much-awaited release of ‘Eclipse’ will be an unprecedented event.”

Just a couple weeks after Sony announced that it was scrapping plans for Spider-Man 4, Logan Lerman, the young star of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, created a firestorm of controversy when he announced that he was in talks with Sony to take over the role of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, from Tobey Maguire.

“Little Shop of Horrors” in 1982 in Off-Broadway musical about a man-eating plant, long a core of high school programs, drama, began life as a film in 1960, perhaps the most notable for the short starring a young Jack Nicholson.

The soundtrack was written by the songwriting team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, shortly after the golden couple of Walt Disney Studios, responsible for hits like “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin has become . The musical revival has recently received a large budget, this time on Broadway in 2003.

Faust’s story about the adventures of a lowly flower shop clerk Seymour Krelborn (Jason Richards) who takes an unusual model of attachment that appears mysteriously after a total solar eclipse. He calls Audrey II, after crushing his people and the beautiful, but questioned the estimated Audrey (Courtney Myers), who is in an abusive relationship with a dentist (Aaron T. Moore).

The uniqueness of the plant attracts some attention, but does not really seem to flourish, accidentally discovered the key Seymour: human blood. First, there is no food Seymour. But as Audrey II grows, it requires much more.

Jason Richards makes a nice, kind Seymour sings tenor with a strong, clear and gives the character a personality beyond the old stereotype of nerd. His attraction to Audrey looks genuine and warm, especially in his great love duet, “Suddenly Seymour” in the Act

Ms. Myers could add a bit of vulnerability to her portrayal of Audrey, but offers a good song, anywhere, especially in his solo blues, “this is green.”

Love and Mr BJ Mushnik – head of Seymour “- is grumpy, but kind, and the Greek chorus, which consists of three very young women (Sharon Brooks, Hamilton and Sharra Diviin Huff) give talented beautiful harmonies.

Probably the hardest working actor in the cast-ng is Aaron T. Moore, who played not one but nine others, including the sadistic Dr. Orin Scrivello. Scrivello Moore plays with such joy that bad, though very angry personality, which makes it fun to watch.

This production of sample handling “real star, Audrey II, has the advantages of reinvention shows that sometimes for years. Historically, Audrey II from an American male is played with a deep voice, and performed on stage by a doll resembling a giant carnivorous plant. This production has a different direction, not just throwing a female (Naz Edwards), but the replacement of its facilities, the puppet. All this contributes to the Campy fun, and ultimately that is it is for everyone.
